Sydney, Feb 7 (ANI): Australian all-rounder James Faulkner has been fined a ten percent of his match fee for shouting an obscenity at West Indies Chris Gayle during the third ODI against the Caribbeans at Canberra.
According to a statement released by the International Cricketing Council (ICC), Faulkner was fined because he had used language that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an international match, News.com.au reports.
The statement added that the incident was related to Faulkner's actions after he dismissed Gayle in the 38th over.
ICC also said that Faulkner has pleaded guilty to the charge after the match and has accepted the sanction proposed by the match referee, for which no formal hearing was conducted. (ANI)
