Uri (Jammu and Kashmir), Jan. 6 (ANI): The Pakistani Army claimed on Sunday that one of their soldiers had been killed and another wounded in a gunfight between Indian and Pakistani troops in the Uri sector near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
According to a Pakistani Army spokesperson, Indian troops fired on their Sawan Patra checkpost in their part of Kashmir, but Pakistani troops repulsed the attack.
The Indian Army has denied the allegation.
Indian Army spokesperson Colonel Jagadish Dahiya said: "Indian troops had not crossed the Line of Control (LoC), but that there was a ceasefire violation by Pakistan to which Indian troops had retaliated by firing.
The Indian Army said that Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing mortar shells towards Indian army posts in the area.
Army officials said that Pakistan started firing the shells early on Sunday morning into a civilian habitation, but there were no casualties or injuries. (ANI)
