Pakistan provokes again, kills Indian soldier

The firing by the Pakistan army at the Line of Control (LoC) was an infiltration bid by the neighbouring country, according to Indian army sources.

SRINAGAR: One Indian army soldier was killed as Pakistan soldiers opened fire in Poonch sector of Jammu & Kashmir on Friday.

According to a Times Now report, the army sources believe the firing by the Pakistan army at the Line of Control (LoC) was an infiltration bid by the neighbouring country.

Reports added that the soldier killed in the heavy firing along the LoC, identified as Naib Subedar Bachan Singh, was a junior commissioned officer (JCO).

The Pakistan army fired rockets propelled grenades at the Indian position which triggered a heavy round of firing between the two sides.

India and Pakistan were engaged in a major stand-off in January this year after Pakistani troops along with their Special Forces and LeT terrorists intruded and mutilated the bodies of two soldiers Lance Naiks Sudhakar Singh and Hemraj, and beheaded one of them. (With inputs from Agencies)
