Obama says would change Washington Redskins name if were owner

Washignton, Oct. 6 (ANI): President Barack Obama has said he would think about changing the Washington Redskins' name if he owned the football team.

But Obama does not believe D.C. area fans mean to offend by using the name, which has drawn renewed criticism for being offensive to Native Americans.

According to Politico, the president however said that he did not want to detract from the wonderful Redskins fans that are here.

He added that the team names related to Native Americans.
