Obama receives poison-laced letter similar to Bloomberg mail

London, May 31 (ANI): A suspicious letter that was sent to US President Barack Obama is similar to two poisoned letters that were mailed to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg this week.

The US Secret Service said the letter to Obama was intercepted and was being tested by FBI investigators.

On Thursday, the FBI confirmed that the letter sent to Obama was laced with ricin, a poison extracted from castor beans.

According to the BBC, the letters to Bloomberg referred to his support for stricter gun control.

One letter was delivered to the Washington DC office of Bloomberg's gun control group Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

The other was addressed to the New York City mayor's office, but intercepted at a mail sorting facility, the report added. (ANI)
