'No reason for us to be in any state of concern', says Khurshid on Boston blasts

New Delhi, Apr. 16 (ANI): Stating that there is no reason for India to be in any state of concern over the Boston marathon blasts, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Tuesday said Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, presently on his foreign visit to that nation, will look at whatever briefings are there necessary locally.

"There is no reason for us to be in any state of concern. Our people and facilities there, I think they are all completely safe. Our Finance Minister will also be in the Boston area and I am sure that he will have the opportunity to look at whatever briefings are there necessary locally. And I will remain in touch with him as well," he said.

Chidambaram is presently on a one week two nation tour to Canada and USA seeking foreign investment.

Three persons were killed and over 130 sustained injuries when two powerful explosions rocked Boston during the annual marathon.

The two blasts occurred within seconds at a sidewalk along the route of the Boston Marathon, where thousands of people had lined up to cheer on the marathoners. (ANI)
