Narendra Modi expands Gujarat Cabinet

Gandhinagar, Nov. 1 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inducted six new faces in his Council of Ministers at a ceremony held here on Friday on the auspicious day of 'Dhanteras'.

The new ministers took oath at a ceremony here today in presence of Gujarat Governor Dr. Kamla Beniwal, the Chief Minister, and several other senior party leaders.

The expansion is being seen as an attempt by the BJP leadership to strengthen the party's prospects in Gujarat in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

There were earlier seven Cabinet Ministers and nine Ministers of State in Modi's Council of Ministers. (ANI)
