New Delhi, July 31 (ANI): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who met Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde here on Wednesday, said it is high time the Government of India gives an offer so that the Nagas can take consultations to agree or not to agree.
"I met the Union Home Minister with my friends and discussed about Nagaland and its problems, including the ongoing political dialogue between the Government of India and NSCN (IM)," Rio told media here after the meeting.
"And I made a request again to the Union Home Minister to given an offer to the Nagas so that the Nagas will discuss with the public and then some concrete decision will come because its now 16 years dialogue and it's a long time," he added.
To a poser on the green signal to the creation of a separate Telangana state, the Nagaland Chief Minister said that he would not like to comment on it.
"But when there is a public pressure and if the government of the day feels that it should be done then I have nothing much to say," he added.
The Congress and the UPA yesterday unanimously decided to create Telangana state out of Andhra Pradesh.
The Congress Working Committee (CWC) last evening decided to recommend to the Central Government to form Telangana, which will comprise 10 districts.
Hyderabad will be the joint capital of the newly-proposed state and the other regions-Rayalaseema and Andhra-for a period of 10 years. (ANI)
