Johannesburg, Oct 2 (ANI): US Open champion Rafael Nadal has said that he will look back on his career with pride even if he does not manage to eclipse Swiss ace Roger Federer's record 17 Grand Slam titles.
The world number three, who has currently 13 Grand Slam titles and has been in sizzling form this season after long-term injury, was backed by tennis legends Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras to overtake Federer before the end of his career.
However, Sport24 reports that the Spaniard said that he would be satisfied with whatever he has achieved in his career even if he does not manage to eclipse Federer's record, although he added that he would need to sustain his form and fitness for the next four years if he is to better Federer's Grand Slam achievements.
The report mentioned that Nadal won his opening game at the China Open against Colombian player Santiago Giraldo and will now face German Philipp Kohlschreiber in the second round. (ANI)
