Mud car rally floors audiences in Bhopal

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), June 23 (ANI): A car rally was organised on Sunday to spread the message of water conservation and offered electrifying visual treat for locals in Bhopal.

In the event over 50 participants raced their jeeps through the muddy road, dirt, quick sand and all the other obstacles a vehicle could stand.

Organiser of sports promoters group in Bhopal, Aruneshwar Singh Dev, said that the event was aimed at creating awareness about environment protection and promotion of water conservation as people come and see the condition of the dry lake and dam there.

He said that the rally was organised every year when there is shortage of water in the area, and people enjoy by riding their jeeps through muddy water across dry lake.

"In Bhopal it is for the twelfth time that we are celebrating the mud challenge. The objective of this rally is to save water and protect our environment. The year we had organised this rally for the first time, there was scarcity of water here," said Dev.

The event showcased a thrilling combination of speed, timing and adventure to the hundreds of spectators present in the rally.

Ninad, a child spectator said that he was excited to see the hair-raising adventure in the rally.

"I had never seen as many jeeps in my life as I have seen today. It is nice, I am enjoying it a lot," said Ninad.

Hundreds of onlookers gathered to watch the event cheering the drivers as they manoeuvred their jeeps through the slush. (ANI)
