MS Dhoni, who is playing his first ever match as non-captain in the 10th edition of Indian Premier League, once again creates stir in social media with a witty remark while keeping wickets during his side Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) first match in the tournament. The match is played against Mumbai Indians at Maharashtra Cricket Association of Pune. Dhoni’s RPS teammate Kevin Pietersen was expected to be part of the team but decided to do the commentary job instead of playing.
Pietersen, who was at the commentary box during the start of the match, was having conversation with Manoj Tiwary. The RPS player was on the mic and standing beside Dhoni at slip. In order to make the conversation interesting, Pietersen said to Tiwary that he is a better golfer than Dhoni. Tiwary immediately said it to Dhoni and guess what, the RPS keeper did what he is famous for. Dhoni responded Tiwary by saying, ” He’s still my first Test wicket,” and a round of laughter in the commentary box starts.
Going by the fact, Dhoni do not have any Test wicket but during the 1st Test of Pataudi Trophy at Lord’s, Dhoni bowled eight overs in the first innings of the match. Dhoni came into bowl after taking the new ball and was bowling against Pietersen. In very delivery of his bowling, Pietersen was plumbed by Dhoni, massive appeal by the Indian captain but not out given by the umpire. However, later in the replay, it came to know that it was clear out but since it was not given so it was not considered. But Dhoni still consider it as his first and only Test wicket to which he referred during this conversation.
