New Delhi: VVS Laxman is enjoying his current role as the mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad, but it's not something new for him.
"Well, this is the first time I have been given the designation of a mentor. But I did this job earlier too when I was a senior player in the Indian team. I used to share ideas and discuss things with the youngsters. I am doing the same thing here also. I don't dictate things to the youngsters… Rather, I try to guide them," Laxman said.
Laxman said he was happy with the way Sunrisers have played in the tournament so far, winning two out three matches. "You have to realise that the first two matches we played, the wicket wasn't really conducive for runs and the batting conditions were really tough.
"But in the third match in Bangalore, we scored 161 and were in control until Kohli took the game away. " he said.
Laxman was confident that Sunrisers would be able to outplay the DareDevils on Friday, though the home team would be strengthened by the presence of Virender Sehwag. "Viru is one of the most dangerous batsmen, but we will do what we are supposed to do. Our bowlers are not over-awed by Sehwag and they will bowl to their strengths. " said Laxman.
