Melbourne, Feb 9 (ANI): An Australian toddler, aged one, has become one of the youngest students at Gulliver's Swim School at Coomera on the Gold Coast to swim 150m continuously.
According to the Gold Coast Bulletin, the achievement took the 22-month-old Kate Wood 20 minutes and, after her six laps of the 25m pool, she just kept on swimming, News.com.au reported.
Swim teachers said the achievement is proof young children are capable of developing strong swimming skills much earlier than most parents think.
The toddler's mother said that she was not surprised and hoped she would reach the 250m mark within the next few months.
She added that they live on a property with many dams and a pool, and learning how to swim was a must for her kids for survival first and foremost. (ANI)
