Sydney, Nov. 9 (ANI): Australian fast bowler James Pattinson has declared that he won't be turning into a vegetarian anytime soon after his teammate Peter Siddle took up a vegan diet for 'physical benefits'.
"I don't think it would be good if two of the fast bowlers did that. I like my meat. I don't think I'll be turning vegetarian any time soon," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Pattinson, as saying.
According to the paper, Pattinson's comments come on the day when Australia plays its first Test against South Africa today at the Gabba, the site where just a few months ago he tore New Zealand to shreds in a man-of-the-match debut.
And with victims such as Sachin Tendulkar under his widening belt, Pattinson boasts of a chest-out confidence that suggests that he would love to rattle through South Africa's A-list single-handedly, the paper said.
"There is a bit more confidence. Performing on the big stage, it does give you confidence and I think as a young player that's what you need. The better players around all have confidence. Some show it in different ways - some are a bit more quiet about it, and some show it other ways," he said.
"I still like to be an aggressive, in-your-face kind of bowler so I think coming up against a better batting attack this year it's probably a bit more daunting," he added. (ANI)
