Margaret Thatcher's statue to carry her famous handbag

London, Aug 25 (ANI): A proposed statue of Margaret Thatcher is set to include the Iron Lady's famous accessory - her handbag.

Two designs were unveiled for the former British prime minister's statue, which is being planned for her home town of Grantham, Lincs, showing her standing tall and holding a handbag, the Daily Express reported.

A third portrays her in a more relaxed pose, sitting down.

Lady Thatcher's statue may be placed outside Grantham Museum just yards from a sculpture of scientist Sir Isaac Newton, who was educated in the town.

The Grantham Community Heritage Association, which operates the museum, aims to raise 200,000 pounds to pay for the statue and an exhibition linked to Lady Thatcher's achievements. (ANI)
