Gaya (Bihar), Aug 3 (ANI): Suspected Maoists blew up a railway track here late on Friday night, disrupting traffic on the Gaya-Mugalsari route of the East Central Railway.
Reports quoted Gaya Railway Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar, as saying that the incident took place between Taraiya and Guraru railway stations at around 11p.m, barely 20 minutes after the pilot engine of Howrah-Delhi Rajdhani train had crossed the area.
No casualties were reported, but the train was stopped at Taraiya station.
Apart from this, many other trains, including the Bhubaneshwar-Delhi Rajdhani Express and the Sealdah-Delhi Rajdhani Express were stopped at Gaya Railway station.
Senior railway and police officials are at the site to co-ordinate repair and investigation-related activities, Kumar said.
The Maoists, who are considered to be India's greatest internal security threat, have off-late intensified their operations in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and some areas of West Bengal. (ANI)
