He did not bat for India 'A' during the final game of the series.

Mandeep SinghBANGALORE: Punjab’s Mandeep Singh fractured his finger while fielding during the third and final unofficial ODI between India ‘A’ and West Indies ‘A’ on Thursday.

The 21-year-old middle order batsman hurt himself going for a catch of Kirk Edwards, at mid-wicket, and was taken off the field and to the hospital for a scan.

Edwards was on 47 when the tough chance was fluffed and he went on to smash a match-winning 104.

Mandeep played no further part in the contest and did not come out to bat as India botched their chase of the visitors’ imposing 312.

The teams will next play a Twenty20 game at Bangalore before moving on to the unofficial ‘Test’ series.
