London, Jan. 30 (ANI): Manchester United veteran Paul Scholes had his 30,000 pound-worth car stolen from his own driveway when he left the car engine running to defrost the windows.
The car, a grey Chevrolet Captiva LT 2 Estate, was stolen in the morning from the Scholes' residence in Oldham, Greater Manchester, when Scholes went inside his house for a short while, the Daily Mail reports.
Issuing a warning to other car owners to be careful of thieves while defrosting their cars, Greater Manchester Police have said that they are conducting an investigation.
This is the second time that the United star and his family has fallen a victim to car thieves. In 2007, some intruders armed with a knife stole a car belonging to his parents after breaking into their home in Middleton, Greater Manchester.
Chevrolet-sponsored United players were offered a choice of their vehicles as part of the multi-million pound deal.
But manager Sir Alex Ferguson banned his young stars from owning the manufacturer's Corvette model, which can hit top speeds of 195 miles per hour. (ANI)
