London, July 14 (ANI): After British Prime Minister David Cameron proposed a 'Sir' title for Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray, a recent poll has revealed that the tennis superstar should not get a knighthood for his amazing triumph, which led to the end of Britain's 77-year long wait for a men's singles champion at Wimbledon from their nation.
According to the Mirror, a poll showed that 55 percent of respondents believe that the Scot does not deserve a knighthood and only one in four people believed that the player should get the title, even though his victory sparked a wave of national celebrations.
The report said that 19 percent people listed themselves as 'don't knows' on the question although Cameron had last week said that he could not think of anyone who deserved the title more than Andy Murray.
However, 46 percent Scottish voters thought Murray should be given a knighthood, the report added. (ANI)
