Liz Hurley launches breast cancer awareness month at Bloomingdale's

New York, October 3 (ANI): Elizabeth Hurley has helped Estee Lauder to kick off the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Bloomindale's recently.

Hurley, who lost her grandmother to the disease, told the New York Daily News that when Evelyn Lauder, the late founder of the pink ribbon, told her that women all over the world are dying due to breast cancer and nobody is talking about it, it struck a chord with her.

The 48-year-old, who is reportedly dating former Australian cricketer Shane Warne, said that her grandmother didn't tell anyone for two years after she found her tumor.

Hurley was personally recruited by Lauder, and has been part of the brand's campaign for nearly two decades.

Since 1992, The Estee Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign has raised nearly 50 million dollars for the cause, and this year they're seeking 5 million dollars more.

The brand has launched social media initiatives and "pink ribbon products" at Bloomingdale's.

Bloomindale's is selling Hurley's favourite Evelyn Lauder Dream Solid Perfume Compact for 49.50 dollars and Estee will donate 100 percent of the product's sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. (ANI)
