Being shot out for 67 and then losing the match by ten wickets, with more than 12 overs remaining can either make or break you. The Royal Challengers Bangalore struggled to bounce back from a similar defeat, and it will be up to the Delhi Daredevils to show they are made of stern stuff when they play the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday, two days after getting smashed by the Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2017.
DD have all the talent you can ask for – their batting is filled with batsmen capable of the extraordinary, while the bowling is as strong as any.
However, having the talent without the winning mentality will get you nowhere.

What the Delhi Daredevils need to find is that mental strength, the intangibles that get you to wins even when you don't play well and assures a W is on the board when you do.
After a couple of encouraging performances early in the season, pear-shaped has started to look like a wonderful dream for the Delhi Daredevils, such have been their struggles.
Against the Kings XI Punjab on Sunday, a team not exactly known for their bowling, DD were bowled out for 67 in 17.1 overs.

Rahul Dravid, the team mentor, has insisted he will keep putting the faith on the youngsters to shine, but getting consistency from the likes of Sanju Samson, Karun Nair, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant is proving to be more difficult than previously imagined.
However, consistency is what they need if they are to somehow find a place in the top four this season. Currently, DD are bottom of the table with just two wins in eight. With six matches remaining in the league phase of IPL 2017, the Delhi Daredevils really need six wins out of six to stand a chance of making it to the playoffs.
Starting with a victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who showed just how good they can be with a wonderful performance against KKR.

The Delhi Daredevils bowlers will need to get David Warner early, or else the game could go away from them – batting first or second. Getting to that suspect middle order as quickly as possible, by stopping Warner, Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson should be the plan.
If they do that, the Delhi Daredevils batsmen will also need to step up, show that they can handle the pressure against this outstanding SRH bowling lineup.
And if they manage all of that, maybe, just maybe, DD might have some hope left in IPL 2017 after all.
