Jaipur: Finally, Virat Kohli will lead his Delhi seniors and even one of his idols. The batsman was appointed state skipper for the upcoming Challenger series in Indore, ahead of Virender Sehwag, who was willing to lead, and Gautam Gambhir.
But the team selection meeting had the usual drama associated with Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) with protests from the newly-elected sports committee members who submitted it in writing to the general secretary.
The bone of contention seems to be a player whose dad announced on Friday he’ll sit on a fast unto death at the general-secretary’s house for not including his son. The player’s dad had lent support to the current committee in dislodging the previous group that had ruled for 10 years.

Officials add Chauhan had stuck to this squad despite strong opposition. The issue of chief coach is resolved as of now with Sanjeev Sharma confirmed for the post.
