Kate Middleton's baby shopping list

Silver Cross pram

Kate and William will want their baby to have 'the best start in life' (the Silver Cross slogan, of course) so a classic Silver Cross pram will most certainly be on the cards. The iconic Balmoral (quite a fitting name, don’t you think?) will make the perfect baby accessory for the royal couple, especially as Silver Cross have been supplying the royal family with baby carriages for over a century. Silver Cross prams are traditional, stylish and timeless – which is handy for when baby number two comes along. In an assortment of colours (and with a hefty price tag) we think Kate Middleton will choose the classic navy Balmoral Silver Cross pram. Its handcrafted excellence is the must-have baby transport for such a classy couple.

Custard & Crumble cot

With aptly named cot designs including 'Cambridge' and 'Louis' (one of Prince William's middle names) there's bound to be the perfect cot for Kate and Wills' newborn from designer nursery furniture and decor brand, Custard and Crumble. The gorgeous designs mean that the royal couple probably won't stop at just a cot; there are beyond cute playhouses as well as children's furniture too. Our guess for the royal baby’s bed is the Hestia Cot Bed. With its regal posters and thrown-like head and foot boards this bed is fit for a king or queen.

Little Giraffe baby blanket

Celebrities including Beyoncé, Katie Holmes and Jessica Alba all love the luxury baby brand Little Giraffe, and have treated their little ones to the super soft, plushy products they offer. The Luxe Baby Blanket (just like Suri Cruise's) will fit in nicely with Kate and Will's love of luxury, as they can wrap their little one in opulence with this faux fur baby blanket. Exceptionally snuggly and chic, the satin border gives it that regal edge. Once the royal couple has felt the softness of the blankets, we doubt they'll be able to resist the plush toys. The brand's iconic 'Little G' giraffe plush toy is award-winning and possibly the most sought-after soft toy around.

Designer baby bag

Kate Middleton’s every style selection is studied and coveted, from her shoes to her earrings. Not as well known for her bags as her sister, Pippa Middleton, Kate will be able to reclaim the style thrown when it comes to her choice of baby bag. Perhaps not containing the most glamorous of items (burp cloths and rash cream to name a couple) the baby bag is a style statement every new mum wishes to make. Our bet is that Kate will choose an über chic Coach baby bag, in patent navy to match the pram of course. Or, sticking with the New York brands, perhaps she will choose a classy Kate Spade design. The Nylon Stripe Stevie Baby Bag is very ‘Kate’, or perhaps she will opt for the demure Nylon Denise Baby Bag in black. We’re sure even Will wouldn’t mind carrying that from time to time.

Luxury first shoes

A baby’s first pair of shoes is a rather significant purchase. The royal baby will no doubt own a fair few pairs throughout their childhood (and a fair few more into adulthood if they’re anything like their mother). Kate and Will shall most certainly want the comfiest, most stylish shoes for their little one’s feet, so Monnalisa’s shoe collection springs to mind (stocked in Harrods). As the royal baby is due in July, Kate will most likely choose a lightweight shoe, such as the French Riviera Ballerina pumps for a girl. For a baby boy, shoes don’t come sweeter than the Harrods of London baby blue lace up brogues.

Sterling silver Tiffany keepsakes

Keepsake gifts from parents to their baby are a great reminder of the baby’s arrival in years to come. In a world where money is no object, these keepsake gifts don’t have to stop at a piggy bank or handmade quilt. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will surely choose one of Tiffany’s baby gifts. The Birth Record frame is a likely option, with its delicate engravings of storks and cribs, or they may opt for the sterling silver Elsa Peretti Padova fork and spoon baby set. Luxury at its finest.

Hamleys rocking horse

No royal nursery is complete without a rocking horse, and there’s only one toy shop fit for the royal baby. Hamleys declares itself to be ‘the finest toy shop in the world’, with its flagship store being open on London’s Regent Street since 1881. The Chester Rocking Horse would make a fine addition to the royal baby’s nursery, acting as a beautiful decoration until the heir is old enough to ride it. The royal family is known for their love of all things equestrian, so a rocking horse is the ideal way to introduce the royal baby to all things equestrian from an early age.
