Jadeja, Sharma's twin strikes leave Oz reeling on day two of Mohali Test

Mohali, Mar 15 (ANI): Left-handed tweaker Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Ishant Sharma took two wickets in a single over to spoil Australia's dazzling start on day two of the third Test match in Mohali against India.

Australia ended the day at the 273-7 before openers Ed Cowan and David Warner provided them with a solid start, adding 139 runs for the first wicket.

However, Jadeja proved to be the surprise package for India with two wickets off successive balls after lunch to disturb Australia's momentum.

Twelve overs later, Ojha had struggling Phil Hughes caught down the leg-side by Dhoni, ending the out-of-form batsman's yet another miserable stay at the crease.

Cowan was lucky but plucky in his 86 and Warner played well to score 71 before the excellent Jadeja struck.

Comeback kid Steven Smith has batted very well and remains unbeaten on 58 while Starc has started well to reach a quick 20 off 21 balls.

Sharma bowled Brad Haddin and Moises Henriques in three balls to provide killer blow to Australian hopes of a big score.

Australia will hope they keep this partnership going on day 3, but as it stands, it's India on top after day 2 at Mohali.

First day of the Test match was called off due to incessant rains and wet outfield. (ANI)
