Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was fined 50 percent of his match fee for showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an IPL match against Rising Pune Supergiant on Monday.
Batting when Mumbai required 17 off the last 12 balls, Sharma protested the umpire’s decision to not adjudge a delivery bowled by Pune pacer Jaydev Unadkat a wide.
Mumbai eventually lost the match, falling three runs short of Pune’s total of 160.
The Mumbai skipper later admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.1.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials. This his second Level 1 offence this season.
