IPL coverage hit by ban on photo agencies

Sydney, Apr 5 (ANI): The decision of Indian Premier League organizers to ban photographic agencies from working at the Twenty20 tournament has hit news coverage of the event.

This has come following the suspension of coverage of the IPL in Kolkata by the Associated Press and other news organisations, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

According to the organizers, however, a small selection of pictures taken by its own photographers will be made available to the media.

The tournament is run by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

International media did not cover tours to India by Australia and England in the past six months because of similar restrictions, the report added. (ANI)
