However, RCB skipper Virat Kohli tried his best to take his team far but his efforts went in vain. He slammed a 48-ball 55 and became the first captain to hit a fifty in an IPL match where team total was below 100. After this crushing defeat, during the post match ceremony, Kohli blamed lack of intent in his side and said, “I think it’s for everyone to see. We lost that game. It’s hard for a captain to stand here and talk when the team is performing like this. Just got take it in my stride, got to move forward and learn from these kind of games. We are trying hard, but it’s the lack of intent.”
Kohli further accepted the fact that RCB are now almost out of the race from qualifying playoffs and expressed that need to enjoy rest of the games. “Guys are fearful of getting out and failing. We lost that game rather than them winning it. We are almost not in the race for the play-offs. We just got to enjoy the remaining four games and not worry about of failing.”
RCB are currently at seventh position in the points table following Delhi Daredevils at the bottom. True that they are almost out from the race of qualifying playoffs but they can spoil it for other teams in rest of their four matches. Their next match is going to be played against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on Monday.
