With news doing the rounds since Thursday regarding Sourav Ganguly‘s fantasy Indian Premier League (IPL) team, and the notable exclusion of former Indian skipper MS Dhoni from that side, Ganguly has finally broken his silence over the news on Friday. Ganguly took to his Twitter handle to say that the news revealed on Twitter earlier regarding his Fantasy League team for IPL 2017 is a fake one based on a fake profile. He also said that he does not participate in or play Fantasy League. Earlier, on Wednesday, an unverified page of IPL Fantasy League posted an image of Ganguly’s Fantasy XI in the IPL. Sushant Singh expresses support for MS Dhoni; takes dig at Sourav Ganguly
The image uploaded by the Fantasy League Twitter handle said that the players in Ganguly’s Fantasy IPL XI were Virat Kohli (RCB), Gautam Gambhir (KKR), Steven Smith (RPS), AB de Villiers (RCB), Nitish Rana (MI), Manish Pandey (KKR), Rishabh Pant (DD), Sunil Narine (KKR), Amit Mishra (DD), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (SRH) and Chris Morris (DD). With Dhoni not in the side, it was certainly a surprise. However, just a day before, Ganguly had said that Dhoni is no longer a force to reckon with in the shortest format of the game, so it did not came as much of a surprise.

“I am not too sure if MS Dhoni is a good T20 player. He is a champion ODI player but when it comes to T20 cricket, in 10 years, he has got one fifty and that’s not the best record,” said Ganguly earlier prior to this fake IPL Fantasy XI news.
