Delhi Daredevils suffered a humiliating 10-wicket defeat at the hands of Kings XI Punjab at the IS Bindra Stadium on Sunday that kept them rock-bottom in the Indian Premier League table.
Sandeep Sharma (4/20) inspired a stunning capitulation as Delhi were bundled out for paltry 67 â which is the third lowest team total in IPL history.
Delhi lost the wicket of Sam Billings in the first over, however, it was the dismissal of in-form batsman Sanju Samson in the third over of the innings that opened the floodgates for Punjab.
From there on, only three DD batsman could cross the double digit mark as wicket kept falling in regular intervals and Delhi's innings ended in the 18th over of the match.
Delhi has arguably the most in-experienced batting line-up in the ongoing edition of the league with only Sanju Samson being the saving grace for the side. Samson has hit 289 runs in 8 matches in IPL-10 and after his dismissal against Punjab, none of the other batsmen could cope up with the fiery KXIP bowling attack.
The likes of Karun Nair, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Panth once again failed to deceive as Delhi were dealt with one of their worst defeats ever in the history of the cash-rich league.
