New Delhi: The world might be Virat Kohli's fan, but the India skipper is clearly in awe of his predecessor MS Dhoni. Even as Dhoniâs fans are busy trolling Harsh Goenka after his dig post Puneâs first game this season against Mumbai Indians, Kohli called Dhoniâs innings against Hyderabad a champion knock. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan echoed the sentiments.
Taking to Twitter, Kohli said that Dhoni had once again done what he has been known to do over the years â finish games. His post read: âMs Dhoni does what he's done with so much confidence over the years. What a champion knock. Great to watch 💪.â

To this, Amitabh replied: âIndeed.â

Dhoni turned back the clock in scintillating style as he struck an unbeaten half-century to guide Pune to a 6-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MCA stadium in Pune on Saturday.
Ahead of the match, Dhoni had come under immense pressure because of his bad form in the league. In his previous five outings, MSD could only muster 12 not out, 5, 11, 5, 28 with few even going ahead and saying that Dhoni is way past his prime.
However, the former Indian captain not only struck his maiden IPL half-century of the season, but also hit all such negative claims out of the park with great elan.
When Dhoni came to the crease, Pune needed 90 runs of 55 deliveries at a required rate of 10 runs per over. Dhoni's 34-ball 61 included five fours and three towering sixes as he took Pune over the line on the last ball of the innings.
MSD's hitting was reminiscent of the times when he used to hardly break a sweat to hit the ball over the boundary ropes. Against the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad, it was one such day for the fans to cherish!
