Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) continued to gain the upper hand over their neighbors Mumbai Indians (MI) after beating them by just 3 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Coined as the ‘Maharashtra Derby’, Match No. 28 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 saw RPS and MI clash second time this season. Chasing 161 runs to win, the home side faltered in the dying moments of the game. Speaking about the game, RPS’ leading spinner so far, Imran Tahir said that the visitors were confident going into the game and knew that they had the upper hand over the hosts. Speaking to IPLT20.com, Tahir said, “Obviously we won couple of games, so we felt a bit of confidence coming into his game. We knew we were the only team that beat Mumbai.” He praised his side’s efforts for a crucial win, saying, “Well done to the whole unit, everyone chipped in, bowled well in partnerships. And look we are very proud and pleased with our performances. And I think 160 was a good score on his pitch and batsmen did their job as well.”
Speaking about the upcoming home games, Tahir said, “Look the only thing that I can say that we have been working hard as a group and very pleased what we did today. We’re really looking forward for the next game because we are playing home next three games.”
“Going into the next games, winning last I think 3-4 games gave us a lot of confidence. Look we have got a really good, nice group of people; we respect each other and just try hard and try to delivery I think. We are really looking forward to the next challenge and ya we just wanna have fun,” Tahir quipped.
