Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen will be seen as a commentator during the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The 35-year-old took to his Twitter handle to confirm the news, stating that he would be in India for the first, fourth and the final week of the eight-team League.
IPL NEWS - I'll be commentating on week one, week four & the finals.— KP (@KP24) March 30, 2017
Will be fun to be back in India.
In case you didn’t know
In February earlier this year, Pietersen withdrew himself from the 2017 IPL auction, stating that he had a busy winter and hence wanted to spend some time with his family in April and May. He was released by the Rising Pune Supergiants, ahead of the auctions. He played for the Quetta Gladiators in the second season of the Pakistan Super League.
The heart of the matter
This will not be the first time that Pietersen will be seen in the commentary box, giving his views on the game. During the Australia vs South Africa series last year, he was seen airing his views and he has also been a part of the Big Bash League coverage.
