The 10th match of the 10th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI), saw an event without much precedence in any form of cricket. SRH captain David Warner scythed a good-length ball of Jasprit Bumrah, the last ball of the sixth over, past point. The ball raced to the boundary line. The fielder collected it and passed it to Mitchell McClenaghan for the next over. Warner, however, had run a single in case the ball does not go all the way, but he forgot to return to his end after the over was finished and the fielders changed positions. As a result, Warner went on to play the first ball of the seventh over, bowled by McClenaghan — a ball Shikhar Dhawan should have faced. However, umpires CK Nandan and Nitin Menon failed to spot the mistake and the game went on. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD, Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad – Match 10
The opening duo of SRH went all guns blazing in match no. 10 of IPL 2017. After Harbhajan Singh and Lasith Malinga conceded no boundary in the first 2 overs, Warner and Dhawan made amends and scored boundaries at will after that. Warner, especially, looked in a no-nonsense mood and churned out runs at a brisk rate. Dhawan, on the other hand, played second fiddle until he got his eye in.
The duo added 84 runs for the first wicket off 11 overs. Harbhajan, who was taken to the cleaners, came over the wicket and bowled a slightly faster delivery after seeing Warner for a switch hit. He fell one run short of his second consecutive fifty. SRH and MI have locked horns in 16 matches, winning 8 matches each.
