The Match No. 31 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Lions (GL) will be Brendon McCullum’s 100th IPL match. As fate would have it, he will achieve the milestone at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the same stadium where he had blazed 158 not out runs against the same opposition in the IPL opener in the inaugural edition in 2008. All in all, McCullum has scored 2,698 runs at 28.70, including 2 hundreds and 13 half-centuries, with an astonishing strike rate of 131.9. He also has 33 catches and 7 stumpings to his name. On Thursday, McCullum posted a video on Twitter thanking everyone associated with the league. “It has been an amazing journey. To be able to play the 100th game, where we started, is a treat. Just want to say thank you to the guys who supported, the teams I have played for — Kolkata Knight Riders, Kochi Tuskers, Chennai Super Kings, and Gujarat Lions. It is a privilege to play for as long as I have so far. I hope I can continue to play for many more years,” said McCullum in the video below:

All the same, he also mentioned the other side of IPL. “The money is one thing. The friendships that we have been able to create over the years are the most amazing thing about the IPL.
McCullum then added that it was a privilege to play with foreign as well as India’s domestic cricketers. He ended the message by thanking the coaching staffs he has worked with over the years in IPL.
