Indian home ministry clears Indo-Pak series

New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has given nod for an India-Pakistan cricket series to be held at the end of December 2012.

The ODIs will be played at Chennai, Delhi and Kolkata while the T20Is will be held at Bangalore and Ahmedabad.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India had extended an invitation to the Pakistan Cricket Board in July for a short limited overs series in December.

The PCB had welcomed the proposal that was subject to the approval of the Indian Government. England will be going back home for a Christmas break at the end of December, and that is the time when Pakistan will play till the England team returns to round-off their tour with an ODI series.

Pakistan had last toured India in November 2007.
