Indian cricket memorabilia to be auctioned

CK Nayudu, Cricket, IndiaHistoric memorabilia from Indian cricket’s past, including a photograph of the first Test team led by C.K Nayudu, will go under the hammer in Mumbai on September 13.

The auction will be held at the Osian group’s auction house. A preview exhibition has also been organized on September 6 at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai.

According to a PTI report, the 1932 photograph of C.K Nayudu’s Test team is expected to fetch anywhere between Rs.50,000-80,000. Other items up for auction include bats, gloves, ties, wickets, badges, sweaters and books belonging to India’s cricket icons.

Former cricketers Bishan Singh Bedi, Ajit Wadekar, EAS Prasanna, Anshuman Gaekwad and cricket historian Boria Majumdar have been invited to a panel discussion on "How contemporary cricket can learn from India's cricketing heritage". A catalogue publication will also be launched.
