Sharma hit 16 sixes in his innings of 209 beating the previous ODI record of most sixes in an ODI innings.
This was also the first time that India did not make a 400+ score in the ODI when a batsman scored a double hundred.
Sharma’s score of 209 off 157 balls is the second highest score ever recorded in an ODI.
This was Sharma’s 4th hundred in ODI’s
Sharma also went past 100 runs in this calender year as well as 1000 runs as an opener.
