Cardiff (Wales), June 20 (ANI): Quality bowling by fast bowler Ishant Sharma and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin restricted Sri-Lanka to a paltry 181 for the loss of eight wickets in the ICC Champions trophy semi-final at Cardiff.
Skipper Angelo Matthews top scored for Sri-Lanka with 51 off 89 balls.
The Indians require 182 for victory and entry into the final.
India had earlier won the all-important toss and put Sri-Lanka into bat.
India went into the match with an unchanged side while the islanders made two changes dropping Dinesh Chandimal and Shaminda Eranga and including Thisara Perera and Jeevan Mendis.
The schedule was delayed by rain for a short while.
If the game gets washed out, India will go through to the final as they come into the knockout stages as the toppers of their group.
India will be the fancied team on paper but the Lankans are also on a high after defeating both England and Australia en route to the semifinal, which would be a repeat of the 2011 World Cup final in Mumbai.By Praful Kumar Singh(ANI)
