The Indian ODI team is on the verge of a big record as soon as they score the first run against South Africa in the first ODI at Johannesburg. The Indian team will become the highest run scoring team in ODIs.
India is currently levelled on 1,82,881 runs from 841 matches with Australia who have the same amount of runs from 825 games. However, Australia have better winning percentage, having won 505 matches of their 825 as opposed to India’s 423. The 3rd placed team is Pakistan with 1,71,982 from 807 matches, followed by Sri Lanka on 1,46,365 and the West Indies on 1,45,260.
India is expected to remain on the top of the charts at least for some time as MS Dhoni‘s men will play five ODIs against New Zealand after the three-match South Africa series. Australia, on the other hand, play only five ODIs against England as a part of the Ashes series.
The Indian cricket team has reached South Africa last night and the first ODI is set to be played on the 5th of December.
