His first innings 231 (and a 301-run stand with VVS Laxman) stabilised India before Ajit Agarkar’s incredible spell set up the possibility of an unthinkable win. Dravid once again guided the chase for the 230-odd runs. In a previous generation, India beating Australia in an away Test would have been considered unthinkable.
