Sydney, Jan. 25 (ANI): Australian cricketer David Hussey's international career looks uncertain after he was dropped from Australia's 12-man one-day squad in favour of Aaron Finch for their upcoming series against West Indies.
John Inverarity, chairman of the Australian team selectors, said Hussey had been dropped from the squad because the selectors were concerned over the team's poor batting performance, especially Hussey being run out twice, during the recent series against Sri Lanka, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
Inverarity added that the team could have performed better as the conditions were favourable for swing bowling, which were exploited by Lankan players Nuwan Kulasekara and Lasith Malinga.
He also said that the quartet of top players David Warner, Aaron Finch, Phillip Hughes and Michael Clarke would add proper balance to the team, leading hopefully to a better performance than before.
Inverarity further said that James Pattinson and Shane Watson had been left out of the team by selectors because of their injuries. (ANI)
