Hussey wants to use Lanka ODI series to bag Test spot for India tour

Sydney, Jan 9(ANI): Australia all rounder David Hussey has said he would like to bat as well as he can during team's upcoming one-day series against Sri Lanka, keeping an eye on a Test spot for next month's India tour.

Hussey said his sole focus right now is to play at his best for Australia in the fifty over format, adding he would be playing the limited over series without any regrets unlike in his past, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Hussey knows the ODI series against Sri Lanka then West Indies present him with opportunities to push his case for a possible Test debut in India in February.

The veteran limited over specialist added that everyone has talked about him replacing his brother Michael in the Test squad, but he claimed he just wants to do well and contribute to the team's success and hopefully win a series against Sri Lanka.

Hussey struggled in his most recent ODI series when he scored 46 runs at 15.33 in three matches against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates in August and September 2012, and he added that he has regrets in his mind in the past while playing for the national team, however, this time around he will play without any of them.
