London, Aug 10 (IANS) Dozens of suspected human-traffickers have been arrested in Spain and France for being part of a ring that smuggled Chinese migrants to Europe and US, BBC reported Saturday.
The organisation is reportedly based in Barcelona.
At least 81 fake passports from countries around Asia were seized.
Police said the gang charged more than 40,000 euros ($53,000) for each person.
The gang would give the migrants instructions on how to avoid being noticed at international borders, including on how to blend in with groups of tourists.
Spanish police, which launched the investigation two years ago, said 51 people had been detained in Spain and another 24 in France.
The report said some of the migrants may have been sexually exploited.
