Hughes says focus on Test batting hasn't affected ODI form

Sydney, Jan 9(ANI): Australia batsman Phil Hughes has claimed his form in the limited overs cricket hasn't been affected by the changes he has made in his technique to become a better player in Test cricket.

Hughes, despite his reputation as a dasher, will make his one-day international debut on Friday against Sri Lanka, News.com.au reports.

The left-handed batsman is confident his rollicking domestic form, an average of 80.75 in five games for South Australia this season, will shine through.

Hughes said he has always focused on all three formats of the game, saying he wants to become a complete player.

Hughes added that he is relishing the opportunity to show his skills in the shorter version of the game after plying his trade in the longest version of the game for Australia.

Hughes also said increased exposure to different conditions and game types with English county club Worcestershire had helped his development.

Hughes will join an inexperienced batting line-up on Friday, with Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja likely to be prominent in the upper order with several veterans either retired or being rested. (ANI)
