Dimapur (Nagaland), June 1 (ANI): Dance and Music are an integral part of life in north eastern India.
Recently, Nagaland capital played host to a "Colours of Spring" event at which different genres of music were played.
Residents of Dimapur had a great time listening to different genres of music and songs performed by students of Hope Centre Academy.
The audience was also enthralled by opera performances. A group of young boys also played classical guitar and violin.
Laxmi Yepthomi, a visitor, said: "It's wonderful we have great talents and I appreciate Hope Centre for encouraging these young people to take up music, dance as their career. It's been wonderful. They played very well and I hope to see more in the future also."
The event was organized with the aim of encouraging upcoming artists from the region.
The academy has been functioning since 2009 and trains children in dance, instrumental and vocal music.
Today, more than two hundred students are going through a course at the academy.
Zubeno, Director, Hope Centre Academy, said: "We found many tremendous talent in this region so we feel that giving them a proper training background will really help them to go far so we started this school with an aim to train, identify, promote the artistic ability from this region."
The highlight of the event was the performance of a ballet by the children.
Brian, a visitor, said: "I was really surprised by their performance especially ballet dance. I was really impressed. Hope Centre is doing a great job in a right direction. Nagas are very talented and doing fabulous in the field of music."
Northeast has loads of talent in the field of music and initiatives like these will definitely help youth to realize their creative dreams. (ANI)
