New Delhi, Jan. 17 (ANI): The hearing of the December 16 gangrape and murder case of a 23-year-old medical student will be held in a fast track court from January 21.
The hearing of the case will be on a day-to-day basis.
V. K. Anand, a lawyer for the main accused Ram Singh, informed media outside Saket Court Complex here that the case has been transferred by Metropolitan Magistrate Namrita Aggarwal to Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna after scrutiny of all documents filed with the chargesheet in the case.
Meanwhile, Manohar Lal Sharma, the lawyer representing another accused Mukesh, alleged that the police and co-accused were beating and torturing his client regularly.
The fast-track court was set up earlier this month for the trial of the case, which had led to a nationwide uproar over crimes against women.
The five adults accused of the rape could face the death penalty if convicted.
Another accused is reportedly juvenile and his age is being determined.
