Mumbai: Harbhajan Singh on Monday became the third Indian bowler totake 200 wickets in T20 cricket, when he sent back Rising Pune Supergiant captain Steven Smith.
Harbhajan bowled a top spinner and Smith lost his stumps while attempting a pull shot. The scalp was the Mumbai Indians bowler's 200th in his 225th match in cricket's shortest format.
Harbhajan has equalled fellow off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who too has 200 wickets to his name in 195 T20 matches.
He though is behind Amit Mishra, who is the leading Indian wicket taker in T20 cricket having picked up 208 wickets in just 176 matches.
West Indian Dwayne Bravo, who was on Sunday ruled out of the entire season of the Indian Premier League, leads the wicket-taking charts in T20 cricket with 367 scalps to his name.
Harbhajan Singh has been representing Mumbai Indians from the first season of the IPL and has beenpart of two IPL winning campaigns in his ten years with the franchise.
