Ashish Nehra turned 38 on Saturday. His teammates and former colleagues came together to wish the Indian pacer through their respective social media accounts. Virender Sehwag led the pack to wish ‘Nehra-ji’ as he is fondly called. He had his own unique way of wishing Nehra with the message being, “Wow ! Nehra ji Birthday and #WorldDanceDay on same day.Happy April waala birthday Nehra Ji. Great memories with you #CricketKaBhishmapitamah.” It was followed by Shikhar Dhawan who wished his national side as well as IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) teammate. Harbhajan Singh, Tom Moody, Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj Singh followed suit. The day Ashish Nehra became James Bond

Sachin Tendulkar also wished his teammate who feels even at this age he gets the best batsmen bowled. BCCI took the opportunity to wish the pacer with the hashtag #HappyBirthdayNehraji that was eventually retweeted by Harbhajan. Even if Nehra is nearing the 40-mark he is far from over. He plays with the mind of the batsmen with his pace and guile. Unfortunately his career has been hit by constant injuries. As for the ongoing IPL tournament, Nehra has scalped eight wickets from five matches. He also became the first left-arm bowler to take 100 wickets in IPL.
The 38-year-old, who was part of the Indian squad for the England T20I series, has featured in 17 Tests, 120 ODIs and 26 T20s for India. Nehra has produced some great performances and has taken both success and failure in his stride.
Nehra is now eyeing to find spot in Champions Trophy which he has mentioned over many interviews.
