Haddin 'wins' Ashes battle against Prior by having 'full head of hair'

London, July 7 (ANI): Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has quipped that he has already won one Ashes battles against England keeper Matt Prior by having a full head of hair.

According to the Sun, the rival glovemen are set to come head-to-head in Test cricket for a third time, with Haddin having come out on the losing side both times.

However, Haddin joked that as he has more hair than Prior, he has already won a battle ahead of the Ashes, although he added that he does not compare himself with any other player and will make sure that he is doing his job and keeping the dressing room moving in the right direction.

Praising Prior, Haddin further said that the England keeper has been a great performer for England in international cricket for a long time, although he added that Prior is no different to the England cricket team as a whole as they have been successful for a long period of time.

Meanwhile, the experienced Haddin, who returned to the team set-up in March and was later installed as vice-captain to help sort out a young dressing room that was losing its focus, warned his teammates that a post-Test beer only tastes good after victory.

With failed campaigns in 2009 and at home in 2010-11 under his belt, the veteran expressed his disappointment with the 2010-11 Ashes series, adding that few of the players still carry the hurt from 2009 and the home series, which is important for a player.

Stating that a player should never forget the way he felt, Haddin, however, said that his team should now focus on getting a new start, adding that they will be judged on whether they win or lose games. (ANI)
