Calcutta: Man of the Series, Ravichandran Ashwin, who emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the four-Test series with 29 scalps, said he wants to build on this performance.
"Satisfaction is not something that I intend to attain... Hopefully, for now, it's a good feeling... Hoping to get a good break and come back strongly," Ashwin said on Sunday.
The off-spinner was grateful to his coach Sunil Subramaniam for the success.
"I had to do a few changes. It was very disappointing the way the England series had gone. Had to change something around…
"Actually, my delivery stride was too long. During the four-Test match series against England, it started to get more and more worse. Obviously I wanted to extract more… It started to go haywire.
"I had to go back and work on the videos. I am very lucky to have a coach who identified it very quickly. He didn't have much time as I had to go back to play in Corporate Trophy… So, he did a really good job.
"I must also thank coach Duncan Fletcher and Joe Dawes who really identified what I actually needed… I definitely needed a kick on my backside and they gave me one," he explained.
On the Kotla pitch, the off-spinner said: "It was quite a tricky wicket… You actually don't know which one is going to bounce and which one is going to shoot along the surface… As much as it is a guessing game for the batsmen, it's likewise for the bowlers…
"You have to try and make sure that you use the pace on the wicket so that the batsmen don't have much time to adjust. It was difficult and I thought Pujara deserves a lot of credit for what he had done today. It was a fantastic innings."
Jadeja, who won the Man of the Match award, said he was just looking to take as many wickets as possible.
"The wicket was helping and I picked up wickets… Unfortunately, I didn't do well with the bat, but I bowled very well in the series… I used to play in wickets like these, like in Rajkot…
"I was trying to bowl in the right areas and the wicket was doing the rest…"
Jadeja, who claimed seven wickets in the Test, scored 43 in the first innings.
